My Messy Morning Hair-Do

This is how my hair looks when I wake up in the morning.
And photograph it with my webcam.
On my brand new laptop.
Old one's broken.
New one's nice though.
Windows 7 'n' all.
I like technology.
When it's still new.
And functional.
Why does everything break?
New and modern stuff.
That's cause of annoyance.
To me at least.
These days things are only nice when they're new.
Or really old.
That's called vintage.
Vintage is when you've got something old.
Then you justify it, by calling it:
Vintage.
Often though, it's really just old.
Still I like old.
And vintage.
I find it quite nostalgic, I guess.
Nostalgic is a nice word.

The above is what happens when you post-pone studying for your exams.

The numbers that determine the maps of your "Future-GPS"

"This is the final run", "Your only chance to change your grade is now", "This grade determines whether or not you can use your diploma", "If you want your diploma, now is the time to start doing something about it".

The number of these and other similar "pep talks" are increasing rapidly during this period of education. It seems that it has become more important to teachers to remind their students, that they to be awake, aware and ready to learn than actually teaching and educating their students instead. Teachers want to emphasize that your entire future is decided in these months. At least in their eyes. It is like they are what they are really trying to tell us about our grade averages is this:

If you get a -3 average you don't even get a "future-GPS",
since you have no hopes for your future.
...

If you get an average of zero, the map on your "future-GPS" will look like this:
Few colors, one straight road paved for you.

If you get an average of 2 it will be looking like this:
More colors, more interesting turns, but your still headed towards a place called
"Gydevang".

At an average of 4 it starts to look interesting you get a grid of opportunities
and a number of possible turns, but still it is quite "square".
When you reach 7 it starts to get harder to choose;
Therefore your "future-GPS" will look like a roundabout, you can
travel in circles for 2 years, get your average multiplied by 1.08
and still be ahead of the game
With a 10 your headed for the Autobahn: no speed limits, unlimited exits,
and you can even go abroad and still be "smart".
For an average of 12, the GPS-analogy does not suffice.
If you get an average of 12, you are according to your teachers it seems,
unstopable and on your way to Outer Space, future-wise,
you therefore don't need a GPS.

This is what teachers try to tell you. Especially during the last part of the final semester. Yet numerous pep-talks and what not, will not change the fact that happiness is not determined by the grade you get in high school, so screw the future-GPS

Pink tea

Hibi-tea

Almost a day off. Yet still I shall produce.
But I sit, drinking pink tea.
How did that come to be?

Try to set fire to the keyboard the only way I know
by Looking at my fingers, the blue sky and the snow
Borrowed from Regnsky.dk

Listening to the music of a rain cloud on a sunny day
Come today, come what may, come this way

I look for inspiration in what is all around
but My inspiration should not be wasted on words
That are dictated by the government and the danish crown

The genres of blogging

Today I was asked the following question by alternablogger (to be explained) Lauritz: "What is an alternablog*?"

Since Lau writes an alternablog, and doesn't know what an alternablog is, I believe I must enlightened the World. I guess it is fair if he does not know what an alternablog is, since I invented the word, and explained it really poorly to him.

So I give to you Lau, future students needing to analyse blogs (see previous post), and the rest of the world: The genres of blogging

Diary blogs: known to some as the weed of the World Wide Web, diary blogs are mainly used by suburban families to give an everyday description of their mostly not so interesting life. For blog analysts: The reason for diary blogging is the fear of going on to the after life with out having left any trace behind.

Alternablogs: blogs by hipsters/alts/artsies/indiekids. These are the new way of creative communication. A way of getting a breakthrough in the modern world and connections in the alt-world. Alternablogs can contain everything. Most readworthy blogs out there are alternablogs. (http://ddaakkoottaa.blogspot.com/)

Music blogs: these are often also categorized as alternablogs. Music bloggers upload tracks that they think are relevant. The alt and wannabe-alt societies rely on these blogs to keep their lust for the hippest music at bay. (http://goingotherplaces.com/)

Philosoblogs: philosophic ramblings of hipsters and intellectuals, their ideas most likely not relevant to others than themselves. If they were my guess is they wouldn't need to blog about it. At least not today, but maybe in the future.

Politiblogs: a place for political ideas to get out. Used by spin doctors, politicians and supporters as a less obvious form of publicity.

Photoblogs: another common form of alternblog. The essence of the photoblogs lies in the name of it. Photographers upload their art giving pleasure to the people.

Funnyblogs: the meaning of these blogs appear to be entertainment and their existence are often not valid. Though if a funnyblog suceeds with its' objective of enjoyment it is a very giving experience. (http://imimb.blogspot.com/)

Skizoblogs: these blogs have multiple personalities and do not know which of the above they belong to. They change themes somewhat at random, similar to a girl that time of month (sorry girls). These blogs will be the most challenging for future blog analysts.(http://suburbansupernova.blogspot.com/)

I believe most blogs to be alternablogs to at least some degree, some more than others obviously. http://ddaakkoottaa.blogspot.com/ is a great, certified, artsy alternablog in my eyes.

This post ended up being much more extensive than I had wanted it to. Sorry, I guess. Too much text, too few pics. Once again, sorry.

Analyze and Interpret!

I'm currently writing a paper. It is a Danish paper. It is a comparative analysis and interpretation of two poems describing the concept of Night. My professors would love for me to say that I'm working in the faculty of humanities, with the hermeneutic spiral as my tool. Lovely, lovely I say.

The assignment tells me that it is of great importance, that I emphasize the modernist and genre specific features in both poems. This genre thingy gets me a bit depressed, because it makes me think of the future of analysis and interpretation. The students to come will be in a great deal of trouble for the World will test them with a new genre. THE BLOG.

Most likely to be considered a relevant form of litterature in a few years future-high schoolers will have the hardest piece of analysis on their hands. Because to solve the mystery will be as hard for future youngsters as it was for ancient greeks to solve the riddles of the sphinx.

The riddles of the sphinx will be considered easy compared to interpreting the meaning of blogs.

Students will be helpless when questioned by the pretending-to-be-smart-teachers ask them, what the "message" or what the "intention" of a post is. Because a blog is really just a runoff for the blogger to spill whatever meaningful/useless soon-to-be-litterature is has bottled up inside.

What I'm trying to say is, that I'm glad I'm up after midnight analyzing poems rather than blogs, because my god is that going to feel like being Sisyphos, though instead of carrying a rock up a hill for all eternity you'll be analyzing something unanalyzable.

So hail to The Blogosphere for supplying work for generations to come.
