BLOG ME I'M FAMOUS!

This t-shirt:
Is some kind of brand-merchandise for French pop/dance floor/rmx-DJ David Guetta's clubbing project. It consists of him and some dame I've never heard (don't know if that's because of my ignorance or her lack of "star quality"). I guess they are like high class party organizers, because what they do is create clubbing events, but for A-lists only. Part of the FMIF-brand also makes rmx & clubbing music on these compilations called "Fuck Me I'm Famous": 1,2,3,4,5... n.

Well this Guetta dude and his FMIF-brand has gotten a lot of attention in Denmark over the past year, because of some rather huge pop-successes in form of collaborations with Akon &Kelly Rowland. I for one think it's quite shitty, but never mind me. All this attention drawn to Mr. Guetta has made a lot of people round DK wear the FMIF-shirt.

This t-shirt is what I wanted to comment. How it lacks contact with our modern world! Nobody cares about the "F***ing" it's all about attention these days. In addition it is a very narrow crowd who are bold enough to have a statement that offensive and provocative posted on their chest. I believe that if Mr. Guetta really wanted to boost his late media rush, he should embrace the most powerful people in the music business these days: The Bloggers. That way he could rise from a common pop-DJ to an alt-creative-innovative musician. The way to do this is simple. Change the brand. Change the t-shirt.

The genres of blogging

Today I was asked the following question by alternablogger (to be explained) Lauritz: "What is an alternablog*?"

Since Lau writes an alternablog, and doesn't know what an alternablog is, I believe I must enlightened the World. I guess it is fair if he does not know what an alternablog is, since I invented the word, and explained it really poorly to him.

So I give to you Lau, future students needing to analyse blogs (see previous post), and the rest of the world: The genres of blogging

Diary blogs: known to some as the weed of the World Wide Web, diary blogs are mainly used by suburban families to give an everyday description of their mostly not so interesting life. For blog analysts: The reason for diary blogging is the fear of going on to the after life with out having left any trace behind.

Alternablogs: blogs by hipsters/alts/artsies/indiekids. These are the new way of creative communication. A way of getting a breakthrough in the modern world and connections in the alt-world. Alternablogs can contain everything. Most readworthy blogs out there are alternablogs. (http://ddaakkoottaa.blogspot.com/)

Music blogs: these are often also categorized as alternablogs. Music bloggers upload tracks that they think are relevant. The alt and wannabe-alt societies rely on these blogs to keep their lust for the hippest music at bay. (http://goingotherplaces.com/)

Philosoblogs: philosophic ramblings of hipsters and intellectuals, their ideas most likely not relevant to others than themselves. If they were my guess is they wouldn't need to blog about it. At least not today, but maybe in the future.

Politiblogs: a place for political ideas to get out. Used by spin doctors, politicians and supporters as a less obvious form of publicity.

Photoblogs: another common form of alternblog. The essence of the photoblogs lies in the name of it. Photographers upload their art giving pleasure to the people.

Funnyblogs: the meaning of these blogs appear to be entertainment and their existence are often not valid. Though if a funnyblog suceeds with its' objective of enjoyment it is a very giving experience. (http://imimb.blogspot.com/)

Skizoblogs: these blogs have multiple personalities and do not know which of the above they belong to. They change themes somewhat at random, similar to a girl that time of month (sorry girls). These blogs will be the most challenging for future blog analysts.(http://suburbansupernova.blogspot.com/)

I believe most blogs to be alternablogs to at least some degree, some more than others obviously. http://ddaakkoottaa.blogspot.com/ is a great, certified, artsy alternablog in my eyes.

This post ended up being much more extensive than I had wanted it to. Sorry, I guess. Too much text, too few pics. Once again, sorry.

Analyze and Interpret!

I'm currently writing a paper. It is a Danish paper. It is a comparative analysis and interpretation of two poems describing the concept of Night. My professors would love for me to say that I'm working in the faculty of humanities, with the hermeneutic spiral as my tool. Lovely, lovely I say.

The assignment tells me that it is of great importance, that I emphasize the modernist and genre specific features in both poems. This genre thingy gets me a bit depressed, because it makes me think of the future of analysis and interpretation. The students to come will be in a great deal of trouble for the World will test them with a new genre. THE BLOG.

Most likely to be considered a relevant form of litterature in a few years future-high schoolers will have the hardest piece of analysis on their hands. Because to solve the mystery will be as hard for future youngsters as it was for ancient greeks to solve the riddles of the sphinx.

The riddles of the sphinx will be considered easy compared to interpreting the meaning of blogs.

Students will be helpless when questioned by the pretending-to-be-smart-teachers ask them, what the "message" or what the "intention" of a post is. Because a blog is really just a runoff for the blogger to spill whatever meaningful/useless soon-to-be-litterature is has bottled up inside.

What I'm trying to say is, that I'm glad I'm up after midnight analyzing poems rather than blogs, because my god is that going to feel like being Sisyphos, though instead of carrying a rock up a hill for all eternity you'll be analyzing something unanalyzable.

So hail to The Blogosphere for supplying work for generations to come.
