Companionship

Over the past three years I have had what can easily be referred to as a companionship with my school. A companionship with both mental and physical ties. Ties of friendship, education, determination, laziness, recreation and all that follows with the conditions of a community with such strong bonds as VG. This partially ended with graduation, and terminally ends with the last celebrations still left to be crossed out in my calendar. The physical ties that binds me to my old home-away-from-home, has been loosened over the last couple of weeks and will be undone completely, as the final party next week is over. Those are my thoughts of the end of this companionship. Its physical remnants are disappearing, but I count on the mental ballast will submerge into my inner and will, subconsciously, influent my every decision. Confident that I have grown, through the past years, defined and redefined myself, I thank the people who have sculpted my being into its current form.

Photographic update: Mixtaping

As promised Lau of Dakota has done the art-work on my March-Mixtape project, thereby completing it, so that it is now 100 % alt and 100 % ready for enjoyment. Now both visually and auditorily complete.

This is the first official collaboration between Suburban Supernova and DDAAKKOOTTAA, but I feel certain that there are many more to come. A virtual embrace and salute to DDAAKKOOTTAA from here.

Mix Taping

The technical disabilities of my parents car have driven me into a world of nostalgia. The world of the cassette tape. The original idea was as simple as recording "Den Sorte Skole" 1 & 2 on two different mixtapes. Due to new technical issues that couldn't happen. Instead I have been forced to re-create the art of the mix tape in its original form. Pulling out the old ghettoblaster labelled CD/RADIO/CASSETTECORDER I re-discovered the old school wonder of the "rec"-button. So now from all the CD's on the shelf I have compiled a mix tape as it used to be!


All that remains for the total re-invention of the digitalized art form is the art work, art work that will hopefully be in the spirit of the tape (photographic update will follow).

Note to mix tapers around the world: The sound quality really has improved since the days of the walk man, but the scratchy, hollow sound is part of the charm.

This is the story all about how...

That is the first line of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"-theme song. Yesterday the theme to the final party of the year at my school was revealed. It is called the O-Show. What the "O" stands for I do not know, but what I do know is that it is the best party of the year, and I am co-hosting it with a girl called Ditte and Lauritz of DDAAKKOOTTAA.

This is Flava Flav, Lau's inspiration for his outfit.

The theme is OLD SKOOL HIP-HOP.

To prepare myself properly for this event, I have purchased the first season of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"-series. So the menu for this Saturday of hang-overs will be lying on the sofa watching these DVD's and enjoying the continous repetition of the words This is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air!
